The building renovation arose from the need to overcome the old distributional layout of the apartment built in the late 1970s. Through the old entrance hall there was access to a dark central corridor onto which all the rooms faced.
The project strategy consisted in an almost total redistribution of the interior spaces, in order to benefit more efficiently from the available space and maximise the use of natural light.
The first obligatory step was to move the entrance and enter directly into the living area. The second step was to reorganise, through a series of demolitions, the entire living area, by distributing it entirely along the south-west facing side, taking full advantage of natural light. The sleeping area was left almost unchanged and the main bathroom was completely reallocated.
A wide passageway allows passage from the living room to the hallway leading to the bedrooms and bathrooms. The opening is organised around a false plasterboard pillar that replicates the existing concrete pillar at a short distance and allows for the positioning of a series of glass shelves. A small smart-working area has also been placed in this spot. A storage cabinet was fitted in place of the old entrance.
